League Partners with Community Groups for NVRD

The Snohomish County League is again participating in National Voter Registration Day with our partners, Evergreen Goodwill and Common Power (CP).  You already know about many of the services that Goodwill provides, and Common Power is a grassroots organization that promotes civic engagement, voter information, GOTV, and leadership development in all of these areas.

Why do we partner with them for NVRD? The answer is simple -- because it's a rewarding collaboration. Goodwill provides the technology and the venues in 11 stores across the region; Common Power provides the training, materials, and volunteer management; and the only thing that the League has to do is promote the event and recruit volunteers. (Goodwill and CP also recruit volunteers.) So we can do our part and be full participants in NVRD without separately mounting our own effort.

Most importantly, we in the Snohomish County League value partnering with those who have the experience to reach out to people who are typically marginalized in the voter information and registration effort. We don't often find a way to do that outreach, and we have invited the DEI commissions from Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood to volunteer with us. In turn, those commissions have invited their city staff and other community groups like Verdant Health to also volunteer, because this is what community is about.

We'll see you when you join us at the Marysville, South Everett, or Lynnwood Goodwill stores. The registration link is on the League event calendar
