Members of the LWVSC Board of Directors are elected by League members at the Annual Meeting each May. Members vote on a slate of nominees presented each year by the Nominating Committee.

We warmly encourage and invite League members to consider serving in this way!

About the Nominating Committee

We seek Board of Directors candidates with the interests and qualifications to provide our League good governance. See our:

Scope of Work and Calendar: 2025-2026

November - January

Identify open positions
Solicit input from members via Voter article
Conduct outreach at membership meetings
Solicit input from board members and committee chairs via personal contact
Request current membership list
Publicize and recruit at meetings and gatherings
Schedule and hold informational sessions for interested members

February

Compare notes on potential nominees
Compile list of nominees
Assign committee members to contact nominees

March

Continue to contact, recruit and finalize nominees
Send confirmation correspondence to each nominee; obtain photo and bio
Send Nominating Committee report to President and board by April 1

April

Prep all information for presentation to Board at the first Board Meeting in April
Send slate of officers & directors with bios and photos to Voter for special edition
Send slate of officers & directors with bios and photos to President for annual meeting program
Update the Nominating Committee Handbook

May

Present nominating committee report to annual meeting meeting attendees for their vote and approval
Update and hand off Nominating Committee Handbook to new committee
