Mission of the Committee
Voter Services is central to the mission of the League of Women Voters. The team strives to provide accurate and current information, resources, and programs for voters and potential voters in Snohomish County that empower them to better participate in the election process. It seeks to both inform and engage the electorate.
Objectives:
- Provide voter information and promote voter registration with a focus on underrepresented groups
- Promote activities that Get Out the Vote (GOTV)
- Engage with/invite students at local high schools to register to vote and to help with voter registration
- Organize candidate and issue forums during election seasons, providing trained, qualified and unbiased moderators and other staff to support the forums
- Create a Guide to Elected Officials and distribute widely through print and digital media
- Observe election processes to verify their continued accuracy and accessibility
Our Work
Distribute voting information to over 100 locations in communities throughout Snohomish County. The information includes:
- Guide to Elected Officials
- Multi-lingual Register to Vote posters with QR codes that link directly to voter information and registration in each language on the Secretary of State's Elections website.
- Voter registration forms in various languages
- Information brochures in English and Spanish focused on mis-/disinformation and tips for speaking up in public meetings
Reach out directly to voters and potential voters through voter information/registration tables at public events, like street fairs, in schools, and at rallies.
Host civic engagement events like our Constitution Read-Aloud presentations and informational displays in public libraries.
In recognition of National Voter Registration Day (third Tuesday in September), we partner with Evergreen Goodwill and Common Power and personally staff election information tables in Goodwill stores.
