We have many opportunities for you to DO something. If you don't see something here, please contact us so we can help you find a way for you to do meaningful work with your volunteer time!

We periodically need volunteers for voter registration, election observation, event planning, etc.  These volunteer opportunities require specific numbers of participants and have a specified date and time.

  • Voter Services Chair
    • Oversee all voter services parts of the organization, attend monthly statewide affinity group meeting. This position requires a nonpartisanship agreement, strong project management, proficiency in Google drive, and effective timely communication with leadership and membership. Details about this role can be found here.
  • Committee Chair - Natural Resources 
    • Organize monthly committee meetings focused on the Leagues positions. In the past this committee offered guest speakers, and field trips but could go in a different direction if desired. 
  • Board Member
    •  Our board works year-round to provide guidance, fiscal monitoring, program leadership, and project development. Our Nominating Committee will be searching for candidates soon!

General Volunteer Opportunities

  • Zoom Account Manager 
    • Handle meeting requests from board members and committee leads to set up and manage zoom meetings, sometimes on short notice. Shared account requires ensuring no conflicting meetings. Usually 5-10 per month. 
  • Graphic Designer
    • Assist communications team with creating images for social media, posters, brochures, and other print materials. Required to be skilled with Canva and file sharing. Short notice projects are expected, so availability for quick turnaround is desired. 
    • Event planning, general (in person when available)
      • This includes all-member meetings such as our Birthday Luncheon and Annual Meeting. Secure location, arrange technology support, plan food if needed. 
    • Podcast/broadcasting  for our Magazine on the Air program
      • Strong verbal skills needed, help with episodes: creation/planning/recording/editing/producing
      • Note: As of July 2023, our program is on hiatus due to lack of volunteers. Can you help us revive it?

    Voter Service Opportunities
    • Voter outreach - Sign up for tabling opportunities (help people register to vote, share voter education materials, talk to the public)
      • These are a super fun way to engage with the community and help share what the League does!
      • When available, you can sign up here.
    • Election observer 
      • Attend election observer training from Snohomish County Auditor, observe as requested during election cycles per our contract. Find any current opportunities here
    •  Courier Coordinator
      • Coordinate the efforts of this people-powered democracy delivery service. Help volunteers deliver essential voter education material to 112 locations throughout the county. Requires some project management and spreadsheet skills.  

      COCO (Community Outreach Committee)
    • Register and educate voters in diverse communities
      • Be part of the Community Outreach Committee’s efforts to engage residents in our underserved communities in the democratic process, and help discover new community partners. 
    • Spreadsheet management
      • Help design and maintain a database of activities, participants and volunteers to increase the effectiveness and outreach of COCO.
    •  “Walking club”
      • Represent the League in parades around the county by walking behind our League banner and encouraging bystanders to join in call and response chanting.
    • Community Outreach Displays - set up and take down 
      • Have a creative flair for designing? Help create awareness of and encourage engagement in the mission of LWV of Snohomish County through monthly displays at libraries and other locations throughout the county. Responsibilities include setting up and taking down a traveling display and making updates as needed to keep the content current and engaging.

    • Join our Observer Corps and be the eyes and ears of the League!
    • Contact your representatives on issues you are passionate about!
    • Remind friends and family to vote in every election!
    • Visit our Unite and Rise 8.5 page for every day actions you can take to defend democracy.
    • Join a committee and stay informed or find a way to contribute!
      • Current League Members - Update your interests by logging in to the website. Many volunteer opportunities happen within committee workgroups and may not be listed here.
