No Kings Day—Oct. 18 Local Leagues are encouraged to participate in this Day of Action. *NOTE: Any action event has a risk of possible violence. Be safe!
• Consider carpooling with other members.
• Be sure to wear your LWV t-shirts, hats, pins, etc., to identify you as a League member.
•Suggested messaging for your signs: - We elected leaders, not kings. - We serve the Constitution, not a king. - Democracy not monarchy. - Power belongs to the People. - Protest is patriotic. - Make good trouble.
•Join groups in Everett, Bothell, Snohomish, or Edmonds. Check the Location link to get the details.
•Everett event:
LWVWA President, Karen Crowley, will speak there. We plan to have a table where LWV members can meet up!
After the rally and speeches on the County Campus, the sign waving on Broadway will start at the Social Security Office, 3809 Broadway, Everett, and go as far north and south on Broadway as there are people to wave signs.
Parking might be a challenge. Consider taking community transit or parking
- East of Broadway and walk up to the campus
- On the side streets located on the south side of Pacific.
