Resisting Threats to Democracy

Here are several ways League members can help our community to resist threats to democracy.
Sign and share our commitment to Unite and Rise for democracy! Unite & Rise 8.5 aims to build a movement of 8.5 million individuals across the United States to unite and rise up against the anti-democratic actions of the current administration. Our goal for Snohomish County is to engage 18,000 individuals in this effort.
Decline to Sign campaign: We’re now providing flyers at tabling events to educate voters on Initiative Measure IL26-126 which would make it more difficult for individuals to register to vote and maintain their current registration. If you see signature collectors for this initiative, email Wendy Colbert regarding their location.
Election Day is November 4th! You can find valuable voting information in our LWVSC candidate forums, which are also advertised in the Snohomish County Voter’s Guide. Complete your ballots early!
LWVWA Action Workshop: Prepare for the 2026 Legislative Session Nov 15th 9am-4pm!
Get an important first look at the issues Washington state lawmakers will address when they convene for the second half of the 2025-26 biennium in January.
