We asked you to tell us “What’s Important to You” through a member survey we offered in August and September. We heard from 40 League members, or about 20 percent of our membership. Thank you for sharing your feedback! Here’s what we’re doing about it.
All-member meetings: The responses showed a strong interest in an evening option. Starting November 20, we will offer both an in-person meeting during the day and a virtual meeting in the evening. See details
here.
Your interests: We are sharing your names with committee and board leaders so they can help you to get involved. Please continue to check our events calendar for volunteer opportunities, and read the monthly Voter newsletter to remain informed about ways you can put your talents and skills to use to empower voters and defend democracy.
Partnership ideas: The board is reviewing our partnership guidelines and policies, and your suggestions, and then we’ll make a plan to connect with the organizations through which we can have the biggest impact.
Why you joined the League: Your stories are powerful. They demonstrate the impact of LWV and can encourage others to join us. We displayed several of them (without your names) in the display case at the Lynnwood library, and we will continue to showcase your stories on a regular basis.
Below are just a few of the reasons our members joined the League:
“I came to LWV from a desire to be involved in a well-established and highly respected organization of integrity, which works to encourage participation in our democracy. Right now we see a rise in authoritarianism and it is more important than ever to be involved in defending the democracy that has served this country well and one that continues to evolve in order to uplift and include all people.”
“The league makes an amazing effort to fill the ever-growing information gaps in our community. I value and trust their research and their presentation of issues that impact me and my family.”
“I joined the league to learn and help with voters rights. I am very concerned about he threats to voters rights and representation. I feel that I can at least contribute to solutions.”
Thanks again for telling us what’s important to you!
