Upcoming LWVWA Convention

The LWVWA Convention will be held virtually between June 24 and June 28. The LWVWA Board is recommending a two-year Program of Work around:
• Adoption by Concurrence of Criminal Justice Position and whether it adequately addresses public safety and not just the role of policing.
• Washington’s Public Hospital Districts and Their Role in Addressing Unmet Healthcare Needs.
• Addressing the Decline of Local Newspapers on Our Democracy
There are other proposals such as Tree Canopy, DEI Strategy, and Counteracting Disinformation/Finding Reliable Information that are not being recommended by the LWVWA Board. Would you like to help determine new policy? LWVWA allots 10 voting delegates to the Snohomish County League and these delegates may vote on new proposals for statewide focus. Step forward to become one of the voting delegates, or attend as a non-voting participant.
